Fork platform · WP Xact air

Upgrading the WP Xact air fork.

The WP Xact air fork is the air-spring fork on KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas motocross bikes. One leg holds the air spring and the other holds the damping, so a single Tintic valve upgrades the whole bike.

Bikes with the WP Xact air fork

  • KTM: SX, SX-F 2017+ · XC-F 2017-2023 · 125 XC 2021-2023
  • Husqvarna: TC, FC 2017+
  • GasGas: MC 2021+

Factory and Rockstar Editions fit, including the 2016 SX-F Factory Editions that ran this fork a year early.

2024 and newer cross-country models moved to WP's closed-cartridge fork, which takes a different kit: see Upgrading WP's closed-cartridge fork. The compatibility finder confirms which fork your bike has.

The Tintic cone valve for the Xact air fork

The WP Xact - Tintic Reds CV Upgrade is a drop-in replacement for the mid-valve in the Xact's damping leg: $364for one valve, and one valve does the full bike. A machined cone and spring take the place of the compression shims. It's machined and assembled in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and comes with an install reference card.

A qualified suspension tuner installs it in about 90 minutes, normally during a standard fork service, and sets it up for your weight and riding. Many riders have it done alongside a revalve. Find a tuner on our dealers page.

Questions

Is there a cone-valve upgrade for the WP Xact air fork?

Yes. The Tintic Reds CV for the WP Xact replaces the compression shims under the mid-valve in the damping leg with a machined cone and spring. It's $364, one valve does the full bike, and a tuner installs it in about 90 minutes.

Why only one valve?

The Xact air fork splits the jobs between its legs: one leg holds the air spring, the other holds all the damping. The valve goes in the damping leg, so one does the bike.

Does the kit fit the closed-cartridge Xact on newer bikes?

No. WP's 2024 and newer closed-cartridge forks, the Xplor CC and the closed-cartridge Xact, take the WP CC Xplor/Xact kit. The compatibility finder tells you which fork your bike has.

Should I convert my Xact to coil instead?

They solve different things. A coil conversion changes the spring. The cone valve changes the damping. You can do either on its own.
